The Exhibition

Paris Photo, as straightforward as its name, has a special focus on artworks carried by the photographic medium. The range of its collections is extremely wide: black & white or splashes of colors; C-print or projection, static or ‘moving’ images (achieved by multiple layers of lighting effects); famous culture icons or fresh young artists… Take your time, you may find some nice surprises.

Negatives art twist

Digital photography had a few technological breakthroughs and won the heart of a lot of people. But if you like the works of the film era, you can find hand painted salt print from a negative from 1863 or a scanned negative from 1984. When the artist Xu Yong says “negative”, he really means it with a smart twist. Make sure you bring your smartphone with you and try it out yourself:

The publishers and booksellers are also present in the Paris Photo, if you are interested in browsing through some highest quality photo books and catalogues, this is a chance to bag them all at once.

There are several art fairs in Paris with a focus on photography as a medium for art. What makes Paris Photo stands out is that it has a bit of everything, yet everything about photography, beautifully presented.

One of the great interests of Paris Photo 2015 is to discover the exhibition VISION by Li Wei, a result of the carte blanche offered by Pernod Ricard in the framework of an annual photography campaign. Across Europe, the Chinese photographer-performer set to flight, as he likes to say, 40 women and men through the heart of Pernod Ricard patrimony:
