Louise O'Gorman

Louise is a photographer based in London. Her work is about a childhood shaped by emotional unpredictability.
A key memory is sitting next to the school darkroom. She tuned out her English teacher and focused on a dripping tap. The darkroom became an imagined place of quiet and clarity. Her father gave her a camera for her 16th birthday. It gave her purpose and a new way to see. Photography became a tool for travel, exploration, and connection with others.
Her images reflect that need to pause. She creates soft-focused photographs that show the quiet textures of ordinary life. Her work uses muted tones and vintage palettes. Noticing small details is both a coping method and her artistic practice.
One of her most recognized works started as a simple request from her mother to fill a frame. It represents her path: finding meaning in quiet moments and learning to see.
