Pigsy (b. Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish artist trained as an architect and a member of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland. Working within a contemporary expressionist language, his practice is driven by instinct, gesture, and psychological inquiry. Using household paint, chalk, oil stick, spray paint, and charcoal, his process privileges immediacy and revision. Text, erasure, and exposed marks operate as forms of thinking rather than illustration. His work explores the human search for meaning and how that search shapes identity and mental structure. Informed in part by his experience of dyslexia, language in his paintings often appears fractured or destabilised. What might be perceived as error becomes generative, a cognitive difference that reconfigures perception.
He has exhibited in Ireland and internationally through residencies and group exhibitions.

Pigsy was in residence at Very Private Gallery in July and August 2024.
